ComLASER has successfully implemented more than 10,000 lidar points in Korea, moving away from the traditional contact-type loop system. These implementations have proven highly effective not only in ensuring speed compliance, but also in crime prevention, traffic data processing, vehicle detection, and in a well-known project to protect high-voltage power lines between mainland Korea and isolated islands. This project, which uses laser scanning technology over the sea, has resulted in significant cost savings for the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). Since 2009, ComLASER has been expanding its business into global markets, further strengthening its presence as an industry leader.
The history of ComLASER's business dates back to 2000, when it began as the ITS division of Unimo Technology Co., Ltd., at a time when the ITS business was still in its early stages of development. In 2009, this division was spun off into ComLASER Co., Ltd., marking the official launch of a specialized IT business. Below is a brief overview of the key milestones in the history of ComLASER Co., Ltd. to date.
2010: Listed in the National Register of Standards of China and developed an industrial laser-controlled rangefinder for a major steel company (POSCO) and an exclusive energy supply company in Korea (KEPCO).
2011: Exported LASER products for road safety to Algeria (over US$200,000).
2012: Achieved the Kazakh standard for laser speed control of vehicles (KTL partnership).
2013: Obtained Brazilian standard certification (INMETRO) and nominated as a promising S/M company in Gyeonggi Province. Exported fixed-type LASER SPEED MEASURING DEVICES to Kazakhstan (+$1 million). Achieved ISO 9001:2008 standard.
2014 - 2015: Awarded by the government for exports worth 100 million US dollars. Started selling TPCAM PRO mobile speed control products with DLT (Dual Laser Technology) function in global markets. Obtained FCC and FDA certification for portable speed guns.
2016: Exported TPCAM PRO to the Iranian market (+$1 million). Delivered TPCAM PRO to the Korean police department (+$500,000).
2017: Released an intelligent highway toll scanner (with dual scanning technology) and a handheld laser camera (TPCAM H10). Participation in the ROTREX exhibition.
2018–2019: Global business expansion to 6 continents, including African countries.
2020: Release of an improved handheld laser speed camera (TPCAM H20).
2021–2022: Launch of a multi-lane speed control camera system with artificial intelligence (MLS-A1). Full-scale business expansion with strategic business partner Integra Design in India.
2023: Expansion of global business in more than 30 countries.
